We first spent some time in the river catching our bait (live spot) and then moved out the one of the fishing reefs in the bay near Solomons. The first reef produced a quick 8 stripers. Then the bluefish moved in and started to eat up our spot. So I moved out into the channel and found some breaking fish. We trolled for a while and caught a few more rockfish and a few blues. Then I went back to a another area and set up to live bait again. We then caught our remaining rockfish ( 9 overs and 7 unders). I took them back into the river where we refilled the bait barrel and they kept the bigger spot for the cooler.

I then moved down the bay about 8 miles and put them on spanish mackerel and some more blues. I saved the best for last. On the way back we hit a little known hard area and dropped live spot there and filled out the limit with stripers up to 32 inches. The spanish mackerel will probably leave on the next cold snap. But the blues will be here through October and of course our rockfish will be getting bigger as the fall comes in. Book now for your day on the Jennifer-Ann.

Next I started working up the bay on the east side and found a few breaking fish. We dropped a couple of trolling rods with planers and spoons to see what was there. Hit a couple of keeper rock right off but the small school moved off and stopped feeding so I moved on. Quite a bit further up the bay we found what we were looking for and limited out with striper in quick order. In additon the catch included some mackerel and blues along with the keeper spot and croakers.
