- Chesapeake Bay Fishing Seasons
Please Contact Us for more specific
information.
-
SPRING
The end of March signals the migration of the Trophy-sized rockfish.
We can catch these monsters generally thru May. Also, large bluefish
start showing up.
-
SUMMER
Beginning in June and thru August, the rock become smaller an blues,
trout, and mackeral show up. For bottom fishing, the hardhead, spot,
and flounder are here. Night fishing for hardhead up to 22 inches
and trout is a blast on light tackle. Chumming with light tackle for
the rock and blues also is good.
-
FALL
All species are available starting in September. The large rock
start showing up in late October. Large schools of small and medium
rock along with copious amounts of blues and trout make jigging with light
tackle a time to remember. We fish Maryland until the end of
November and Virginia until the end of December.
-
WINTER
Starting from the 2nd week of December thru February, we will be
fishing the ocean from Rudee Inlet in Virginia Beach, Virginia. We
will be fishing for the big rockfish and occasional whopper bluefish which
are migrating down the bay and the Atlantic coast to winter near Cape
Hatteras.
